At root a quartet Hello Lovers is a strange, fashionable and evocative fruit; Masha Poloskova-violin , Mollie Fischer-cello, pianist multi-instrumentalist Andy Hadaway and hannah liddell-pianist, combine to make the legs of this chamber pop ensemble. With composer/singer J.C. King’s unique synthesis of linear and modal song structures, aptly described as “southern gothic” endorsing improvisation method, with alternately light and dark however consistently romantic themes. Hello Lovers creates readily palletable song offerings of broad, rich harmonies and kinetic movement.
The group has spent the better part of 2007 & 2008 writing, performing and recording their follow up to 2006s acclaimed Vanity Fair EP (inchworm records). Tracked at cacophony recorders in Austin, TX with Eric Wafford and at Means of Production studio where they recorded their debut EP. This new work, a full length LP entitled Gone with the Wind, is a stunning document of hard work and a prolific year. The music shows a new refinement and cultivation of the quartet’s ambition for adventurous and dynamic arrangement and showcases new work with larger orchestration (from euphonium to sea harp), a queue of more to come.
